ready-to-roll icing
- 500g (1lb) packet store-bought ready-to-roll icing
- icing (confectioner’s) sugar, sifted for dusting
- food colouring
- Knead the icing on a surface lightly dusted with icing sugar until pliable.
- Use a skewer to spike the icing with food colouring and knead until smooth and the colour is even, adding more colour if necessary. Makes 1 quantity.
NOTE:
Colour from pretty pink to sky blue, the colour makes the cake. Simply knead the ready-to-roll icing on a surface dusted with icing sugar until pliable, dip a skewer into the colouring and prick the icing. Continue kneading until the colour is evenly spread.
